大家好!

How's everyone? 🙂 This will be a long email. Sorry! Haha..

Updates from last week:

Mission tour with Elder Evans! I totally loved what I learned from that day. All the talks and messages were really inspiring. I'll share some thoughts below after I share what happened from last week 🙂

Sooooo...

Last Tuesday towards the end of our windows, we met a nice pohpo (elderly woman) with her Indonesian helper. They're both really friendly and had the interest to talk to us. We had a mini lesson about Plan of Salvation and the pohpo said her husband died 10 years ago and wants to see her husband again. We truly testified that we can see our deceased loved ones in the next life and that the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought hope and peace, knowing that this will really happen someday.

Us missionaries has been trying to come up with activities to invite people to church. Last week we did the Family History activity / church tour and for this week we did the ping pong activity. There were 5 people who showed up 🙂 Good start... Then we visited a member after that activity.

Aside from that, [another] pohpo was my miracle for the week. We met her probably 3 weeks ago during our windows finding. Then just few days ago, we saw her again by the harbor, talked to her, and continued BRT-ing (Building Relationship and Trust)  with her. We had a great conversation with her. My companion, trying to BRT with her, suddenly blurted "I love eating siumai". Lo and behold, [she] scheduled us for yamchah the day after and we were able to share a little bit about our missionary work and purpose here in Hong Kong. We tried sharing a message or video but she declined. It was still good though 👌🏻 She got a good impression of us missionaries now. She said it was her first time to cheng someone that she doesn't even know, especially missionaries. Haha... We'll still try to schedule her to a return appointment and see if we can share a message next time.

Last Friday, we did ministering again with our Relief Society President from [one of our wards] and was able to visit at least 5 returning members. Most of them were not home so we just left a note telling that we dropped by and we miss them... We also had some referrals from a member who came to our Adult English class. The members are starting to trust us now even though we just moved here few weeks ago. 😎👌🏻

Our area and companionship is doing great! I've been letting Sister Madriaga take over for the most part and she's killing it! Her confidence totally boost up and I'm sure she'll be fine even after the training 😊 Can't believe she's almost done with her training. Oh well, time flies! I only have 50+ days haha ooops who's counting? 😅

Some thoughts from the mission tour:

There were some questions that were brought up last mission tour. Among these were:
  1. How do we maintain lifelong discipleship?
  2. How do we value our converts throughout our life?
  3. How can I know if I'm worthy?

What I've learned:

  1. Start by becoming a disciple. In Alma 32, there's this pattern "a desire becomes a perfect knowledge of God" 😊
  2. Pray for them that they'll remember the feeling they had before.
  3. Just trust Heavenly Father. He knows me. He loves me. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses. 😊 We begin to feel when we're not perfect, we're not worthy. But it shouldn't be like that... One way that can help us is to always have self-assessment and ask ourselves "Am I currently doing the things that I'm supposed to be doing?

I know that God values our sacrifices 😊 If we choose to be happy, we'll find ways to be happy 😊 It's a wonderful life. Don't be afraid. Exercise faith and trust in God's love. Have a great week everyone! I love y'all! 💖
