Lรฉih hรณu!

How are y'all? It's Monday again and I'm sending you some updates 'bout me. ๐Ÿ˜Š Soooo, I'm on Week 7 now (whaaaat?) haha and I have two more weeks left here in the MTC.

"My Kindness Shall Not Depart from Thee"

Updates/Highlights from last week:

5/29 Tuesday -

For my personal study today, I read PMG Chapter 13 (Strengthening New and Less-Active Members). As missionaries, our goal is not just teach and get them baptized but also help them stay in the church. PMG p. 222 says "It is not enough for people to simply come into the Church. They must come to stay. All of your teaching and invitations must be directed toward this end."
The Tuesday Evening Devotional speaker was Sister and Elder Costa (of the Seventy)... Elder Costa said he never had a bad day since baptism because he knows the Plan of Salvation (the Plan of Happiness) --- he's very enthusiastic! ๐Ÿ˜Š Part of his talk was D&C 138:53-56 wherein in verses 55-56, it talks about noble and great ones. He said, these are us, the missionaries, because we are noble, great, and selected spirits to labor in His vineyard for the salvation of the souls of men.. Another part of his talk was about "Who is God?" and he gave these scripture verses that questions who He is --- Mosiah 11:27Alma 9:6Luke 7:49Matthew 21:10Luke 5:21Luke 8:25D&C 133:46Matthew 8:27Mark 4:41... He then asked, "Now, who is He to you?", for him (Elder Costa) He is the pre-mortal Christ who suffered for our us, He's the Lamb of God, the divine master, the one who healed the blindness of many people and brought back people's life, healed people from spiritual infirmities, walked in dusty roads teaching the people about the gospel, shared love for the people, forgave the sins of many people, He did the Sacrament, walked to the Garden of Gethsemane and took all the pains, carried and was nailed, pleaded Heavenly Father to forgive them, He saved us from eternal death and leads us to eternal life and exaltation... For me, I know that He's much more and it's impossible to describe every single thing about HimHe's everything to me ๐Ÿ˜Š With Him we can do all, without Him we can do nothing... Elder Costa also said, "If you have doubts, just open the Book of Mormon, doesn't matter any page, and it'll answer your questions."

Elder Francisco going to Cambodia Mission, Sister Reyes to Cambodia Mission too).

5/30 Wednesday -

In class, we learned how to help people make and keep their commitments. We talked about how to help them resolve their concerns. Sometimes people's concerns are like an iceberg. The visible portion is only a small part so we have to follow the promptings of the Spirit and respond in a manner best suited to their concerns.

5/31 Thursday -

In the morning, me and my companion tried to audition for a special musical number (so we can perform in one of the devotionals here in MTC). We sang the song "My Kindness Shall Not Depart from Thee" by Rob Gardner... In class, we learned different idioms in Cantonese ๐Ÿ˜Š It was fun! During dinner, we got a letter from the MTC Presidency that they wanted [my companion and I] to sing for the upcoming Sunday Devotional here in MTC (we didn't expect that it'll happen soon lol). Exciting! ... In evening class, we talked about how to Teach in Savior's Way. I learned that as missionaries, we should continually love them, pray for them, and serve them. Find opportunities to express our love for them (through service etc). We should also ask questions that will make them think and feel deeply about the Savior and the gospel... As a missionary, I know that this is a sacred calling and I should teach as the Savior taught.

we'll be performing for the Sunday Evening Devotional

6/1 Friday -

The highlight of my day was the BE ONE DEVOTIONAL (Click for link)! ๐Ÿ˜€ If you haven't watch it yet, please do ๐Ÿ˜Š The Spirit was so strong while we were watching it and my testimony about the Priesthood and Priesthood blessing grew stronger because of this devotional... President Nelson said: "Build bridges of cooperation instead of walls of segregation."

6/2 Saturday -

In class, our teacher discussed about Isaiah 40 (it's hard to understand the writings of Isaiah in the Bible but my teacher was sooo good in explaining it!).

6/3 Sunday -

Since the older district is leaving, they have to call new STL's (Sister Training Leaders) and guess whaaaat?? Me and my companion are the newly called STL's now ๐Ÿ˜Š We've been released as the Music Coordinator of our branch hehe.. So basically, as STL's we have to watch over the sisters in our zone, minister/administer to them, and make sure that they're doing good..๐Ÿ˜Š Also, we had a Mission Conference and the speakers talked about "How can we minister in a holier and higher way?" and they based their talks to the last General Conference talks of Elder AndersenPresident Nelson, and Sister Bingham... For the Sunday Evening Devotional, me and my companion did a musical item, we sang "My Kindness Shall Not Depart from Thee", we did a duet (of course I'm the alto lol) and we received good feedbacks after the devotional ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm thankful for the gift of music and that I was able to convey the message of the Lord through that music... Our Sunday Evening devotional speaker was Sister Sheri Dew (member of the General RS Presidency in the 1990's) reminded us the importance of having a testimony of the living Prophet can be an anchor to our own testimony and that having questions are good because questions leads to conversion then to receiving revelation.
