WEEK 44

ไฝ ๅฅฝ Lรฉih hรณu everyone! How are y'all?

I don't exactly remember what happened this week but it was sort of good and tough week for me lol. There are definitely happy moments in the mission field and also growing moments... but of course, challenging moments are always present ๐Ÿ˜Š But it's okay cos our life's purpose is to grow and to learn ๐Ÿ˜Š

Updates/Highlights from last week:

Video and pictures: Ice Skating with the Sisters!

- We visited our Bishop's family and it was great to know them more ๐Ÿ˜Š They have two kids who are also planning to serve their missions 3-4 yrs time. We shared missionary work and helped their kids have more desire to do missionary work ๐Ÿ˜Š... and also if I'll be able to turn back time from the time I was preparing for my mission, I would like to strengthen my personal study of the scriptures... I am really grateful for the new "Come, Follow Me" program ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pictures: With Bishop's family!

- I had exchanges this week with Sister Risenmay. She's amazing! She's from Washington and she'll be done with her mission next month ๐Ÿ˜Š One thing I learned from her was to always take the challenging moments as an opportunity to grow and just enjoy the mission cos there will be no other time in my life that I can do this.

Pictures: Exchanges with Sister Risenmay

- We had a super awesome lesson with "K."! We shared Matthew 14's parable of Peter and Jesus walking on the sea, Faith, and never losing our sight on those things that matter most.

Pictures: With "W." Family!

- "G." is super amazing! The other ward from our stake had a baptismal service yesterday so we took this opportunity to bring her to that baptismal service and witness it! ๐Ÿ˜ We really think she'll get "dunked" soon! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Super awesome! We also taught her WOW (Word of Wisdom) last week and she's had no problems with it! Super good! ๐Ÿ˜Š and on her prayers, she will mention her desire to get baptized and asking God to help her continue being better so she can prepare for it. Yaaay! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pictures: Shatin bridge at night. So pretty! And another pic of me and my companion!

That's it for now. Sorry this email is not inspiring at all haha but thanks for your emails and comfort! Missionary work is definitely not easy but I love being a missionary ๐Ÿ˜Š Have a great week guys! Love y'all!

WEEK 43

ไฝ ๅฅฝ Lรฉih hรณu everyone!

I had a great and busy week! Happy belated Valentines y'all! ๐Ÿ’–

Sorry, it took awhile to figure out this new domain/system of emailing but thank you for your emails and for reading mine every week ๐Ÿ˜Š How's everyone doing? It's raining here in Hong Kong and it's a bit weird cos it's been hot these past few days haha. ๐Ÿ˜ ... and it's crazy how we can video call our family now! So many changes happening! Haha. From us sisters wearing pants to video calling our family to ... I wonder what's next hahaha ๐Ÿ˜ Truly the Lord is hastening His work ๐Ÿ˜Š

I don't have much time to write but these are some of the

Highlights from last week:

- We learned basic Mandarin greetings during our District Council ๐Ÿ˜Š Since we ride the train everyday, we usually bump into Mandarin speaking people so it's really helpful to learn some Mandarin ๐Ÿ˜ .. and it's fun learning it! ๐Ÿ˜Š
- We got a new friend this week! [S]he has two cute sons [and she] came to church and we are now teaching her ๐Ÿ˜Š She believes that the Gospel can really help her family and she even said that she wanted to be baptized and join the church ๐Ÿ˜
- Met and taught "K." last week and we all read 1 Nephi 3-4 and emphasized how we should rely on God's way instead of our own way ๐Ÿ˜Š Her baptismal date is still tentative for June (because that's when she turns 18) but hopefully her mom will allow her to be baptized soon. *fingers crossed*
- During our windows finding, we went to this place/spot that we don't usually go to.. Then we met someone who is now based in Japan (but is originally from Hong Kong) that actually has an interest to learn about the gospel/church! It's amazing how the Spirit works and we are glad that we followed the Spirit to go to that place ๐Ÿ˜Š
- Had crazy Sunday yesterday! Back to back meetings then Family Home Evening after... but what can I say? Missionary work is awesome! ๐Ÿ˜Š I love being a missionary ๐Ÿ˜Š

This is it for now. Sorry my thoughts are everywhere haha but yeah, have a great week everyone! Continue smiling ๐Ÿ˜Š God loves you! Don't forget about the pictures below! ๐Ÿ˜Š

How's everyone's week? ๐Ÿ˜Š ... Chinese New Year was amazing! Haha. We received lots of "red pockets" from our ward members ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love our wards and grateful to serve in [both areas] ๐Ÿ˜Š

Videos and Pictures: Red pockets from our ward members!
We'll ask our Bishop to change the cash to coupons

Updates/Highlights from last week:

- We had Deep Clean for P-Day hahaha! It was fun cleaning though ๐Ÿ˜Š

- Explored more [of the 2nd] area. It's good that we have more finding places to go to! ๐Ÿ˜

- Visited some returning members and friends

- During our finding, we had an amazing street lesson with a lady from Mainland China (but also speaks Cantonese). It was hard to understand her for the most part because of her "Mandarin accent" but I was able to teach her about the Restoration... but when I was trying to give her the Book of Mormon, she rejected it ๐Ÿ˜ž but it was okay! At least I was able to plant a seed in her heart ๐Ÿ˜Š

-We also had our Zone Conference last week and our topic was "Enduring to the End" and how to not just endure but "enjoy" our mission... Some of the highlights I learned from Zone Conf:
  1. Enduring to the End means remaining faithful to our covenants... and it requires total commitment to the Savior and to our covenants.
  2. In the parable of the sower (Matt 13), we are the seeds and we definitely pick our own soil... May we always choose the good soil and continue nourishing ourselves with the good word of God.
  3. Because of some distractions, we sometimes miss an opportunity to grow.
  4. Difficult times in my mission will fade and I will eventually forget them... but good times remain.
  5. My mission is my life training ๐Ÿ˜Š I should not worry when people reject us because there will be more rejections to come ๐Ÿ˜
Pictures: Matchy Chinese shoes for Zone Conference lol
We love being extra sometimes ๐Ÿ˜

-Update for the people we teach: Extended baptismal invitations and 2 of them accepted it ๐Ÿ˜ We are aiming for March 3rd for the both of them ๐Ÿ˜Š Yay!

Screenshot of text messages haha we were trying to find someone to help fellowship our friend
but they're all busy ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ haha

Picture: We got hoisamgwo (pistachios) from someone we're teaching

Picture: Also this turnip cake!

Picture: Matchy Chinese jackets from our recent convert

Busy and fruitful week! I love being a missionary! ๐Ÿ˜ Grateful for this opportunity to learn and to grow ๐Ÿ˜Š Church is true. God loves you!

Have a great week! ๐Ÿ˜Š
