Lรฉih hรณu!

So much things happened last week! Here's why...

Updates/Highlights from last week:

Aug 20th Monday -

Video: Lost in the city!

We originally planned to go to Space Museum for our P-Day but there were so much people there that day so we ended up going in an Exhibit Halls with cool pictures hehe. ๐Ÿ˜Š Then we walked to Garden of the Stars and took pictures with Bruce Lee's statue, the pig "McDull', and Jackie Chan's handprint haha... Did Weekly Planning at night... Chill day ๐Ÿ˜Š
Read a talk today from October 2016 General Conference - "O How Great the Plan of our God" by Pres. Uchtdorf

Pictures: P-Day! Went around the Avenue of the Stars
and a big random cute dog outside a shop haha

Aug 21st Tuesday -

Video: Rain cannot stop missionary work!

It rained so hard while we're doing our "finding" so we kinda stayed for a while on an overpass bridge and it was a good opportunity to talk to people! Haha... Some of the people who were stucked with us saw our name tag and got curious so we told them we are chyungaausihs (missionaries) and teach people about Jesus Christ... They're not really interested with what we do but we still invited them to come to church or English Class ๐Ÿ˜Š
Talk that I read today: "Do not leave the Savior" by Elder Pearson from August 2018 Liahona

Pictures: Dog finding again lol and FINALLY having the Hanjuku Kobo cheese tart!

Aug 22nd Wednesday -

Videos and Picture: One of our friend's Chameleon. Wow!

We did gardening at Crossroads today and it was soooo hot haha but fun! The temperature today was 33°C (92°F huhu) and it was sooo humid...Anyways, at night we met with Sister W. and she's officially one of the "people we teach"(investigator) yay. Taught her the Restoration ๐Ÿ˜Š She's really good and hopefully she'll continue to progess ๐Ÿ˜Š
Talk that I read today: "That Your Joy Might Be Full" by Sister Bingham October 2017 General Conference

Picture: Awesome pic inside the elevator and "Elder" Stitch's companion hehe!

Aug 24th Friday -

Video: Mission Conference!

Went to the tallest church building (chapel) that I saw here in Hong Kong! haha... We had our Mission Conference (the ENTIRE mission) with Elder Evans from the Area Presidency. I also met the Filipino missionaries who are serving in [Filipino congregations]. Also saw my MTC friends there. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Video: Jollibee in Hong Kong!

Here are some of things that I learned from today's Mission Conference:

  1. Sometimes we're afraid we cannot do enough so we end up doing nothing... We should do what we can!
  2. "Missionaries and their Mission Presidents have made a Covenant in the Pre-mortal world to serve together." - quote from Pres. Ballard
  3. The Lord will guide us if we live the law of consecration. We're here for a purpose even though we don't know it yet... All blessings are available to us if we're obedient. - Pres. Phillips
  4. Pres. Nelson calls the Book of Mormon as a miraculous miracle. We need to use it more and help the people act so they can receive a witness. They should read it until they feel the Spirit and feel it more... When people know that it's true, we won't have to ask them to go on a mission or be married in the temple. No one can stop them ๐Ÿ˜Š
  5. Daily recognize the hand of the Lord in your life (may it be through small and simple things).
  6. Ether 12:6 talks about trial of your faith... We should test it, experience it, try and not resist it. By doing so, that's when we get the trial of our faith.

Friday night,

President and Sister Phillips picked up Sister Sloan from our apartment (she has to go home for some medical reasons). It's so sad to see her leave but I know that Heavenly Father has plans for her. We're hoping that she'll be back in Hong Kong mission as soon as she gets well... In that note, I am in a trio now with Sister Lee and my original companion Sister Ramboz. We handle two wards now. I admit that I am so worried for the next transfer cos both of them will be going home and it's just me left who'll take over the areas... but I trust Heavenly Father. I know that He'll help me cos He entrusted me this work. Just like what Nephi said in 1 Nephi 3:7 --- I can do this! His will be done, not mine.... Pray for me everyone haha.

Aug 25th Saturday -

Pictures: WALALA! Ward Activity

Had Ward Activity called WALALA and it was suuuuper fun! It's a water activity and so we played games that includes wataaah (water) and everyone's dripping wet HAHAHA... I really enjoyed it cos I was able to know more our members and talk to them (building relationship and trust).

Videos: More Walala fun! (5 videos!)

Aug 26th Sunday -

Picture: A fellow alumna of BYUH! Yay! She's in my Ward and we have common friends! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Since we handle both wards now, we were in church for the whole daaay (8:30am-6:30pm wow). It was really a busy day! From back to back meetings, to classes, to Sacrament services... plus the choir! Phew! ๐Ÿ˜ Then at night., we met with Sis. J (young kid) and Sis. L is her mom. They are the people that we teach in my new ward (the added ward), and taught them Plan of Salvation. I know and I testify that they felt the Spirit and that our message is true. I know that this plan will help us understand our life's purpose. This is His plan and He loves us soooo much.

Awesome week! I testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. Grateful to be a member and to have the knowledge of our Heavenly Father's plan for His children. Don't be afraid to share the gospel to your friends.

Sorry for the long email again haha. Have a fab week everyone!

Ngoh ngoi leihdeih!

Some pics at the Tsz Shen Monastery! More pics and vids at the end of this post!
Email day again! Hehe. Thank you for your replies and for reading my email every week.
How are y'all?

Updates/Highlights from last week:

8/13 Monday -

P-Day... We went to another Monastery haha it's called Tsz Shen Monastery or known as Gunyam Monastery. We did water offering and zen calligraphy there. Nice experience! (All pictures and videos at the end of the post!)... Soooo, some people believe that Gunyam is their Jesus Christ who visited China in ancient times... It's super cool to learn other people's culture and religion cos then we try to relate/connect it to our beliefs and eventually share the Gospel to them ๐Ÿ˜Š
Scripture verse of the day: Mormon 3:2

8/14 Tuesday -

Pictures: You just have to be unique when doing "finding'"
so we did "Dog finding" hahaha and talked to the amo of the dog.
(I miss Compy!)

Went to...[meet] with Brother D. (he's in our potential call sheet) and he's a Chinoy (Chinese-Filipino) but didn't know how to speak Tagalog. He's actually a member [of another church]; very nice and accepted our message about God and Prayer. Today, I read a talk about Repentance. It's the talk by Elder Renlund from October 2016 General Conference entitled Repentance: A Joyful Choice.

8/15 Wednesday -

Video and Picture: View from Sister W.'s house

Did Crossroads service today... At night, we met with a potential [person with interest,] Sister W. She actually asked us to teach her English but we ended up talking more about the church and what missionaries do. She said she doesn't have religion but is very interested to investigate our church... Praying for her progress ๐Ÿ˜Š
Scripture verses of the day: Mormon 9:21 and 27

Pictures: Goofy pics with Sis Sloan and Sis Ramboz (at the back)

8/16 Thursday -

Video: Nothing and no one can stop missionary work, even with this heavy rain lol.

Picture: Sis. mccolgan (my mtc comp) gave this mogumogu and pocky to me (so sweet!)

We...had our Zone Conference. Saw and talked to my MTC friends - Sis Caunca and Sis Mangubat... First part of our Zone Conference was the announcement of "some changes" in our mission. I was nervous that Pres. Phillips won't allow us anymore to go to Disneyland or Ocean Park but he didn't change that rule so that's good hahaha.. Sooo, one of the changes in our mission is we can now listen to sacred, classical, and Church produced music (like EFY and Mormon Tabernacle Choir), before it's only hymns hehe... Then President Phillips gave a training about "Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts". We also had training on setting "achievable" goals and how we can develop our "teaching skills". He then shared his story when he was a Bishop that he gave a talk in their Ward Conference about Repentance (he prayed what should be his topic and this is always the answer to his prayer). After their Ward Conference, a nonmember girl who had been investigating for how many years approached and thanked him for his talk and said "Bishop, I want to be aligned to Christ's teaching... When can I be baptized?"... Such an inspiring story! If he didn't follow the Spirit's prompting to talk about Repentance, that girl wouldn't be baptized and realize that she needs Christ in her life... I testify that it is really important to rely on the Spirit and act on it.
Scripture verses of the day: Ether 3:14 and Ether 4:12

8/17 Friday -

Pictures: Family terms
Had yamchah (dimsum restaurant) with the L. Family and was able to know them more. Such a great family with strong testimonies about the church and the gospel. Their youngest daughter actually submitted her mission papers few weeks ago. We're really excited where she'll go. Surely she'll be a great missionary! ๐Ÿ˜„ ... At night, me and my companion taught English class and our topic was about Family.. Chinese people are very specific and they have different terms for uncle, auntie, grandpa, grandma (depends on the relationship). i.e yihjeung is uncle and he is your mother's sister's husband, a-suk is uncle again but he is your father's youngest brother, baakfuh means uncle also but he is your father's older brother and a looooot more haha.
Scripture verse of the day: Ether 6:9

8/18 Saturday -

We had split today and so my companion had to go with Sis. Lee for some teaching appointments. I, on the other hand, took care of Sis. Sloan (she's sick). Please pray for her ๐Ÿ˜Š
Scripture verses of the day: Ether 12:6 and 27

8/19 Sunday -

Pictures: I'm surprised they have rambutan here haha (1st pic)
Zen calligraphy ( i did that! i traced it hehe) (2nd pic)
Church was good today! Me and my companion actually picked up [one of our] returning members and went to church together... The speakers' topic were: Joseph Smith's example, Sacrament Prayer on how we could "have the spirit to be with us" always, and Young people needs to prepare and serve a mission... After church, we had choir practice and I assisted in playing the piano (I actually missed playing! ๐Ÿ˜. We'll sing "I know that my Redeemer lives" and "Sweet hour of prayer" next month for our ward conference.
Scripture verses of the day: Moroni 7:11-12 and 16

Here are all my videos and pictures of the Tsz Shen (or Gunyam) Monastery:

That's my week. Hope you'll have a great week everyone! I know that the Church is true and I am very grateful to do His work... Ngoh ngoi leihdeih๐Ÿ’—!
