Some pics at the Tsz Shen Monastery! More pics and vids at the end of this post!
Email day again! Hehe. Thank you for your replies and for reading my email every week.
How are y'all?

Updates/Highlights from last week:

8/13 Monday -

P-Day... We went to another Monastery haha it's called Tsz Shen Monastery or known as Gunyam Monastery. We did water offering and zen calligraphy there. Nice experience! (All pictures and videos at the end of the post!)... Soooo, some people believe that Gunyam is their Jesus Christ who visited China in ancient times... It's super cool to learn other people's culture and religion cos then we try to relate/connect it to our beliefs and eventually share the Gospel to them 😊
Scripture verse of the day: Mormon 3:2

8/14 Tuesday -

Pictures: You just have to be unique when doing "finding'"
so we did "Dog finding" hahaha and talked to the amo of the dog.
(I miss Compy!)

Went to...[meet] with Brother D. (he's in our potential call sheet) and he's a Chinoy (Chinese-Filipino) but didn't know how to speak Tagalog. He's actually a member [of another church]; very nice and accepted our message about God and Prayer. Today, I read a talk about Repentance. It's the talk by Elder Renlund from October 2016 General Conference entitled Repentance: A Joyful Choice.

8/15 Wednesday -

Video and Picture: View from Sister W.'s house

Did Crossroads service today... At night, we met with a potential [person with interest,] Sister W. She actually asked us to teach her English but we ended up talking more about the church and what missionaries do. She said she doesn't have religion but is very interested to investigate our church... Praying for her progress 😊
Scripture verses of the day: Mormon 9:21 and 27

Pictures: Goofy pics with Sis Sloan and Sis Ramboz (at the back)

8/16 Thursday -

Video: Nothing and no one can stop missionary work, even with this heavy rain lol.

Picture: Sis. mccolgan (my mtc comp) gave this mogumogu and pocky to me (so sweet!)

We...had our Zone Conference. Saw and talked to my MTC friends - Sis Caunca and Sis Mangubat... First part of our Zone Conference was the announcement of "some changes" in our mission. I was nervous that Pres. Phillips won't allow us anymore to go to Disneyland or Ocean Park but he didn't change that rule so that's good hahaha.. Sooo, one of the changes in our mission is we can now listen to sacred, classical, and Church produced music (like EFY and Mormon Tabernacle Choir), before it's only hymns hehe... Then President Phillips gave a training about "Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts". We also had training on setting "achievable" goals and how we can develop our "teaching skills". He then shared his story when he was a Bishop that he gave a talk in their Ward Conference about Repentance (he prayed what should be his topic and this is always the answer to his prayer). After their Ward Conference, a nonmember girl who had been investigating for how many years approached and thanked him for his talk and said "Bishop, I want to be aligned to Christ's teaching... When can I be baptized?"... Such an inspiring story! If he didn't follow the Spirit's prompting to talk about Repentance, that girl wouldn't be baptized and realize that she needs Christ in her life... I testify that it is really important to rely on the Spirit and act on it.
Scripture verses of the day: Ether 3:14 and Ether 4:12

8/17 Friday -

Pictures: Family terms
Had yamchah (dimsum restaurant) with the L. Family and was able to know them more. Such a great family with strong testimonies about the church and the gospel. Their youngest daughter actually submitted her mission papers few weeks ago. We're really excited where she'll go. Surely she'll be a great missionary! 😄 ... At night, me and my companion taught English class and our topic was about Family.. Chinese people are very specific and they have different terms for uncle, auntie, grandpa, grandma (depends on the relationship). i.e yihjeung is uncle and he is your mother's sister's husband, a-suk is uncle again but he is your father's youngest brother, baakfuh means uncle also but he is your father's older brother and a looooot more haha.
Scripture verse of the day: Ether 6:9

8/18 Saturday -

We had split today and so my companion had to go with Sis. Lee for some teaching appointments. I, on the other hand, took care of Sis. Sloan (she's sick). Please pray for her 😊
Scripture verses of the day: Ether 12:6 and 27

8/19 Sunday -

Pictures: I'm surprised they have rambutan here haha (1st pic)
Zen calligraphy ( i did that! i traced it hehe) (2nd pic)
Church was good today! Me and my companion actually picked up [one of our] returning members and went to church together... The speakers' topic were: Joseph Smith's example, Sacrament Prayer on how we could "have the spirit to be with us" always, and Young people needs to prepare and serve a mission... After church, we had choir practice and I assisted in playing the piano (I actually missed playing! 😁. We'll sing "I know that my Redeemer lives" and "Sweet hour of prayer" next month for our ward conference.
Scripture verses of the day: Moroni 7:11-12 and 16

Here are all my videos and pictures of the Tsz Shen (or Gunyam) Monastery:

That's my week. Hope you'll have a great week everyone! I know that the Church is true and I am very grateful to do His work... Ngoh ngoi leihdeih💗!
