Leih hou!

How's everyone? 😊 It's hot here in Hong Kong and sometimes it rains lol.. How was your week? 😊

Updates/Highlights from July 2 - July 9:

July 2 -

I got to see my Filipino friend, Sister Lim! We overlapped in Provo MTC. We ate lunch together and other Sister Missionaries. It was nice to talk in Tagalog again lol.. After lunch, me and my companion went to [get] some groceries (US store and Filipino store) haha.. My first P-Day was kinda boring but I had fun exploring [place] though hahaha... At night, we had Family Home Evening (FHE) with [BYU-Hawaii alumni who are married]. [The husband] served his mission here in Hong Kong. He has a lot of inspirational mission stories! 😊 He shared that one time there's a Chinese man reading a newspaper in the park and they stood beside the man and started to read the Restoration pamphlet hahaha then after reading couple pages, the Chinese man threw his newspaper and said that he wants to know more about the gospel. Sooo cool, right? Haha. He also shared that a Chinese girl saw them before in a dream and so when she saw them (the missionaries), she stopped them and asked to teach her a lesson and then she got baptized!!.. Super cool stories hehe I'm excited to experience some miracles in my mission 😊 .. I also learned a new phrase today: bat ji je, bat jeuih (too bad cant put some tones haha) but the translation of that phrase is If you don't know, there's no sin. Lol.

July 3 -

Pictures: A salted egg...bun? And yummy food!
For our District Meeting, we talked about "Teach when you find, find when you teach" and how should we develop our faith to find people to teach... Finding here in Hong Kong is really hard. Everyone is on their phones and everyone is busy with work/school... but it's okay, it's our challenge as missionaries 😊 It's all about Attitude 😊 At night, we had a dinner appointment with our Bishop's family. We ate soooo much food! 😁 Hou sihk (good food!)
Scripture for today during my Personal Study: 1 Nephi 19:9

July 4 -

4th of July! Hahaha. We did some service today at CrossRoads Foundation 😊 It's a foundation who helps refugees.. Fun! --- Mosiah 2:17

July 5 -

Pictures: Happy Birthday Sister Kimball!
Nothing special today except for "Finding". It's also Sister Kimball's birthday today. She's my apartment-mate 😊
Scripture for the day: 2 Nephi 9:7 and 21-24

July 6 -

We taught a lesson today to a less-active member. He's been a member for a year now but he's not consistent in going to church and he has a problem with Word of Wisdom... So we taught him about Faith and used Ether 12... At night, me and my companion taught the English Class and our theme was Summer 😊 It's fun to teach HK people English haha.

July 7 -

Did records today in our Area Book Planner (it's on our phone now!). We also did some "Potential Investigator" Calls and it was crazy hahaha everytime we tell them that we are missionaries, they'll hung up the phone hahahaha or they'll say that they're busy and don't have time to talk to us. Then we called someone who was actually baptized (member) but we didn't know cos the area book planner was not updated lol. I had a good time in doing the Area book planner and doing the calls 😊

July 8 -

Pictures: Apartment-mates!
Church was great! Speakers shared a message about Atonement and being grateful for all the blessings that we receive each day 😊 A member challenged us that when we do one of our prayers, we just thank Him and not ask for something 😊 She also challenged us to write 5 things that you're grateful for every night before going to sleep 😊
Scripture for today: 2 Nephi 19:6

That's my week. Have a great week everyone! Love y'all!
