How are you all? 😊

Pic: With Sister Madriaga on her first Zone Conference!

Good news: I am still alive! Haha.
Sad news: Rallies here in Hong Kong 😟

Updates from last week:

Pics: Pday activities!

Well, well, well, what a week! From Zone Conference, doing windows finding, to ministering to our members, doing some records, calling people from home, cleaning our apartment, and staying at home and not having the opportunity to partake of the Sacrament 😭 T'was an interesting week as me and my trainee stayed in our apartment for 2 days and hearing the protests going on outside. It was also sad knowing that we weren't able to partake of the Sacrament and renew our covenants 😟 But the good thing is we are safe and still alive! Ready to battle again and continue doing His work. But of course, we just have to continue to be careful, stay alert, and follow the Spirit at all times! 😊. It was also hard to schedule those people that we're teaching because of the rallies going on and some of them are still on a holiday but we'll try again this week! 😁

Pics: Exchanges with Sis. Mangubat from the Philippines!

Zone Conference happened too last week! But I forgot my notes hahaha so sorry! But I think one thing that stood out to me from the last Zone Conference was when we talked about the "culture of faith" here in China Hong Kong Mission and formed 2 groups (the newbies and not-so-newbies/dying missionaries lol) wherein we had some discussions. I just loved how our answers also matched with the newbies. It just shows that we have the same thoughts, feelings, and perspective in doing this work. And of course, we have one purpose and that is to bring souls unto repentance. Teach people and baptize converts! 😊

Pic: Sis Padernal brushing her teeth after Zone Conference 😊 hahahaha!

I had also fun visiting some pohpo's (lola's/grandma's) in our ward who are in the home-for-the-aged centers. They are so sweet and so cute! We went there to minister and let them know that we do love them and we care for them 😊 One of the pohpo is even blind but still comes to church every Sunday with the help of some of the Relief Society sisters in our ward! They will pick her up every Sunday morning and drive her to church. Such a great example of faith! 💗

There was also a member whose husband died few days ago 😢 She texted us that she wants to meet with us and we know that she needs someone to listen to her at that moment. She said she's so sad but she had a great testimony about the Plan of Salvation. We agreed and we testified as well with what she shared. My companion even shared her experience and testimony about the Plan of Salvation and she knows that someday she will see her grandma again (her grandma died the day she got here in Hong Kong). But yeah, Sister Madriaga is a great missionary! I love her and I love training her 😊

Then when we were doing windows finding last Friday, we met again the lady we met and taught last week while in that same park! She said she lost our contact but it was amazing how we saw and met her again. She said she was not planning to come to that place but she felt she needs to and so she did! We taught her Plan of Salvation and it turned out that's the message she really needs on that day (as what she said) 😊 Wow! It's totally the Spirit who helped us discern her needs. She said she's willing to hear more and so we rescheduled her for this week again 😊

Pic: Teaching Sis. "M." and she brought us foods to eat! 😁 So nice!

Such a great week! Even though it was tough doing missionary work for the past few days, I know that we are being guided because this is His work. I love being an instrument to help the people here in Hong Kong to know more about God and our Savior Jesus Christ... I love you all and God loves you too! Trust Him! He has His ways and timing 😊

So I introduced the TimTam Slam to my companion hehe

Have a great week!

你好大家! 你地好?

How are you all? 😊
Me and Sister Madriaga had a great week! She's starting to open up now and enjoying the work 😊 She's like a little sister to me! I love training such humble, teachable, and kind baby/trainee 😊 Hehe.

Updates from last week:

When we were doing some calls, we were able to teach a lesson through phone! It even lasted for 15-20 minutes (whoa!). The person was really curious with some of the principles and ordinances of the church. Even though it ended up him not having that much interest (sad), I know and I feel that me and Sister Madriaga both felt the Spirit while we were teaching that person through voice call. T'was an interesting experience though! Haha.

We were doing our windows last week and bumped into a Jehovah's Witness lady. She's from somewhere in Canada and is teaching English here in Hong Kong for almost 20 years now. Since me and Sister Madriaga is not really familiar with their religious beliefs (aside from they only believe in Jehovah - which they consider as Heavenly Father(?)), we had an interesting conversation with her. When she started to debate with us, it felt awkward and we know that we have to stop this immediately. We bore our testimonies firmly that we know that Heavenly Father loves us and He has a plan for us, that Jesus Christ is His son who atoned for our sins, and that the Holy Ghost is the Comforter and revels and teaches the truth of all things (Moroni 10:5), and then we left her. Hopefully we left her with a good impression of us missionaries? Haha. Well..

We also met a 12-13 years old girl last week. We were out doing windows and after we prayed in, it stared raining! But we were able to stop this girl, introduced ourselves, and asked her if she has time to hear our message and she said YES! .. So we sat down with her at the pavilion nearby. She's actually half Filipino! Her dad is from Nigeria and her mom is from the Philippines. We were able to build relationship and trust with her and talked some things about the Philippines. Pretty cool! Then we shared the Restoration to her. She's a very smart girl too. She's so keen while listening to our message and since she's been Christian all her life, she said her knowledge has been added with the message we shared. Hopefully we will see her again this week as we try to schedule her 😊

There's more stories to share but I think that's it for now. Haha. Uhmm, we also got a message from our church leaders that there was a rally/protest going on last night here in [our area] due to some political issues and it's still going on until now (but less people I guess), so our leaders told us to be careful and just watch out. But other than that, everything's doing great. I love being a missionary! I love the gospel, love my mission, love you all!

Pics: With my new companion and trainee!

I am loving training! Training is sooo fun! 😊 Last Thursday, I got my baby/trainee and she's from the Philippines! 😊 Her name is Sister Madriaga. She's 20 years old, graduated with Communications Science degree, and is super cool! Haha. She's a bit quiet and shy but now she's opening up more 😊 She's super good and is super diligent. She said her whole family served a mission 😊

Updates from last week:

From Monday - Wednesday was full of chengouts/food appointments! Haha. Since Sister Alboroto is leaving the area, people kept on inviting us and feeding us haha. I remember my baby days / first four transfers that every time my dying companions will leave, we get a lot of chengs and some of them sometimes are back-to-back chengs which was the reason I gained a lot of weight haha fun times.

I'm trying to remember what else happened last week haha but I think I'll share some of the miracles that happened... Uhmm, in one of our windows finding last week, we met someone...from Africa. His situation is a bit complicated. He has no family here in Hong Kong and is living with his friends only. He had to leave his hometown because people found out that he changed his religion from Muslim to Christian. His faith in Jesus Christ is so strong that he chose to leave everything and start a new life here in Hong Kong. We taught him the Plan of Salvation and told him the assurance and happiness that this plan gave us... And then, yesterday he came to church! 😊 Since he's "international", he has to go to [the International] ward and so he met the Elders who's now in charge of teaching him 😊 He then texted us at night and he said that he felt peace and comfort once he stepped in the chapel 😊Super cool!

Then last Saturday, me, my trainee, and our Elders [from the area] gave a training to one of the wards we cover. We did this "Member Missionary Work" training. It was a great night as we were able to know their concerns and struggles in doing this work. We were able to come up with some ideas on how we can enhance this marvelous work 😊 .. I know that this work is not just for missionaries but also for the members 😊 We should help each other in building the kingdom of God here on Earth 😊 .. I wouldn't know how to do member missionary if I didn't go on a mission and so I am grateful for this opportunity to experience being a full-time missionary. It is hard but it is totally worth it 😊

Pics: My previous companion went to my previous area!

I don't know what else to write but hopefully everyone's doing great! I love you all and have a great week! I know that God loves each one of us and He is always mindful of us. He knows what we're going through and He wants to help because He loves us. I am grateful for the Plan of Happiness which brought me real happiness and the knowledge that I am a daughter of God and the purpose why we're here on Earth 😊 Miss you all! Continue serving and loving our brothers and sisters! 😊
