China Hong Kong Mission: 08/12/18

Another week passed by and I'm on my second transfer now (wow!) but still on the same area and ward... The new batch of missionaries arrived last Thursday and I'm excited for them! 😊

Updates/Highlights from last week:

Aug 6th Monday -

After emailing, we went to 10,000 Buddhas (and we definitely saw a lot of Buddhas lol haha and oh! We also saw a snake casually passing by the sidewalk haha! videos below and all pics at the end of the post!).. At night, we visited [Sister W. L.] and she chenged us 😊 We asked how was her fasting yesterday (we did Ward Fast yesterday) and she fasted for her 2 "returning member" friends. We then shared Alma 17:11-12 to her. 😊 Ngoh jidou ngohdeih yiu houdo loihsing (I know that we need a lot of patience and we should show good example to our non-member friends)... When we went home, our fire alarm went on haha but there wasn't [a] fire, they thought it's just carbon monoxide.. The fire alarm reminded me of BYUH Hale 10 hahaha, just turning on for no reason lol.

Aug 7th Tuesday -

We taught [Brother J.] today about Godhead, Prayer, and the Book of Mormon 😊 He's the one who answered our "potential calls" and went to church with us last Sunday. He's so smart and super nice! He said he'd met with the missionaries before but since he's so busy with his undergraduate studies, he stopped meeting them... but I think he's now prepared to receive the gospel. 😊 Heavenly Father really leads us to those people who are ready to receive Him.

Aug 8th Wednesday -

Gamyaht mouh dahkbiht (Nothing special today) haha. More finding and potential calls 😊

Aug 9th Thursday -

Ngoh gamyaht mh syufuhk (I was sick today) so we just did missionary work at home.

Aug 10th Friday -

We had Trainer-Trainee meeting today. I was so happy to see my MTC batch (Sister McColgan, Elder Simmons, Elder Chuang). President Phillips asked us how was our first transfer and we all answered the same thing --- struggling with the language haha but overall we're happy to serve the Lord and the Hong Kong people plus eat good foods 😉

Aug 11th Saturday -

Taught [Bro. W.] (returning member) today and shared the Restoration video (Cantonese dubbed haha)... I am always amazed every time I watch this video. The Spirit is just so strong!... I know that Joseph Smith was truly a Prophet of God and when we sincerely pray and ask God, He will definitely answer our prayers 😊

Aug 12th Sunday -

The speakers in our Sacrament Meeting all focused on "Why do we need to know more about Jesus Christ?" and one of the speakers based her talk on President Uchtdorf's April 2018 General Conference talk where he asked "What day most changed the course of history?" --- the answer is Jesus Christ's Atonement. 😊
