First things first, I am in HONG KONG now. It's crazyyy! I can't believe it hahaha it's like I'm still in a bubble lol and I don't understand them (they speak fast!) but it's okay, I know that the language will come eventually. Gift of tongues is real ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Okaaaay, so highlights from June 19th - July 1st:

June 19th (MTC, Provo, Utah) -

Tuesday Evening Devotional - the speaker was Sister Sharon Eubank of the Relief Society General Presidency and I tell you, she's an amazing speaker! She shared about the story of Moses and how it relates to our lives now.
  1. Moses learned the truth of who he is really is (For us, we do Temple Endowment... We know our identity - that we our sons and daughters of God)
  2. Patiently worked on his weaknesses (Give the Lord a chance to work with you)
  3. Took the long view about gathering of Israel (Quality of service vs. Numbers of baptism)

June 21st (MTC, Provo, Utah)-

We had a workshop entitled Improving Referral Experience. It's really cool that we can get and do referrals now using our devices... Our missionary responsibilities are:
  1. Encourage members to submit referrals
  2. Contact the referring member and involve them in the teaching process when possible
  3. Update the referral status
I like this quote from President Kimball: "No mission can achieve its full potential without members' help." I know that this is true. We have to work with members as well to hasten the work of the Lord ๐Ÿ˜Š

June 22nd (MTC, Provo, Utah) -

In class, we discussed about Mosiah 12-15 / Isaiah 53... And I like what it says in Mosiah 15:15-16 "publishing peace" - and this is our work as missionaries! To publish peace and good tidings to the world ๐Ÿ˜Š

June 24th (MTC, Provo, Utah) -

The Sunday Evening Devotional today was great!!! All of the 12 Apostles were there! And in the morning, the First Presidency was there too (but didn't get the chance to see them). They're all in Provo MTC for the New Mission Presidents seminar.. So anyways, Elder Cook gave the talk for the evening devotional. His topic was all about "Love".
  1. Love for our Savior Jesus Christ
  2. Love for your companion
  3. Love for your mission
  4. Love for your mission president and his wife
The Spirit was so strong! Even when the Apostles left.. And we started to sing "Called to Serve" and all the new mission presidents were waving at us. I had goosebumps that time! ๐Ÿ˜„

June 25-26th (Travel to Hong Kong) -

Pictures: My in-flight meals and arrival at Hong Kong Airport

Sorry this one is blurry!
Left USA and flew to Hong Kong.. So the plane ride from Salt Lake City to Chicago (yes, they flew us to Chicago, weird right? haha) was delayed due to some airplane technical issues but we landed safe ๐Ÿ˜Š then the flight from Chicago to Hong Kong was loooong! But it's okay cos they upgraded my seat from Economy to Business Class HAHAHA. (Lucky girl here! Lol.).. So I had a good sleep and had good foods!! ๐Ÿ˜„ The plane ride was like 15-16 hrs long.. When we landed in Hong Kong airport, President Lam and Sister Lam picked us up together with the Assistants to the President Missionaries (APs). We then stayed in the Temple Patron housing and slept there.

June 27th (Hong Kong) -

Pictures: Taamjaai, my first Hong Kong meal!
Did some orientation and applied for Hong Kong ID ๐Ÿ˜Š In the afternoon, we did some "finding" and shared the Gospel, mostly to students ๐Ÿ˜Š I was with Sister Milan (she's from the Philippines) and she's awesome! I learned a lot from her... I ate taamjaai for dinner ๐Ÿ˜„

June 28th (Hong Kong) -

Video and Picture: Trainer Reveal and my name tag

Picture: KFC with Sister Ramboz and Sister W

I met my trainer today! She's Sister Ramboz from Utah.. And we also have a Summer Missionary with us - she is Sister W.. So they picked me up and we traveled to our apartment [which was almost 1.5 hours away!]. After lunch, we went to a park somewhere and we met our investigator G and her friend S (who is a member). My trainer said they've been meeting with G since the start of the year and she said she knows and can feel that the Gospel is true but then she always delays her Baptism date. She set the date on January 25th for next year.. And so when we met her today, we talked about the importance of BaptismChrist's example (even though He's perfect, He still did the baptism), and the importance of the Holy Ghost in our lives... We testified that Baptism is really important and she should not delay it, and she said she'll pray about it... I HAD A LOOONG DAY!

June 29th (Hong Kong)

Pictures: (1) Chicken feet and spare ribs, (2) Played badminton and table tennis, (3) English Class

We had our zone meeting today and talked about our goals for the coming month.. Our goals are: 5 baptism, 15 with baptismal date, 15 people who'll come to church, and 45 new investigators... I know that it's tough but with the Lord's help, we'll accomplish these goals... In the evening, they had this "English Class" wherein we invite non-members or investigators to come and learn English. ๐Ÿ˜Š Fun!

July 1st (Hong Kong) -

Pictures: Look at our neighbor's GIANT turtle in this picture!
My first Sunday here in Hong Kong! Got to share my testimony in Cantonese (short but sweet).. After the Sacrament meeting, we sat with our investigators in Youth Class and Young Women class.. In classes, the lessons were about "Why is it important to make and keep our covenants with the Lord?". It was a great Sunday even though I don't understand most of them but still I can feel the Spirit... I know that everything will be okay (especially with the language) eventually.

That's my 9th-10th week. Have a great week everyone!

Ngoh ngoi leihdeih!
