WEEK 31

你好 (Léih hóu!)

It's that time of the week again to receive my email haha how's everyone doing? How's Thanksgiving y'all? 😊 ... Also, Hong Kong is getting cold! It's 16°C today! Wow!

Anyways, update from last week:

We went hiking for P-Day! It's not a famous hike but Sister Wilson has been there before so she was our guide haha. The hike was exhausting but not that exhausting/hard compared to Hawaii hikes... Saw Shenzhen China on top view! 😄 (See all the pics and vids in the bottom!)

District council's discussion was about the importance of our covenants with the Lord especially when we are doing Windows of Heaven Finding... that we covenant with the Lord that we will stay in that specific place and open our mouths to every people that we will encounter with even though no one wants to stop and talk to us 😟 haha. Missionary work is great!

or there is a way to have White Christmas (baptize one person for each companionship)

Had Exchanges from last week and I was with Sister Alboroto (yay Filipina companion for 24 hrs lol). I was able to serve in [the neighboring] area again haha... It's cool to see her growth as a baby/trainee and how she does "windows of heaven" finding. She is a great missionary and I am learning a lot from her! 😊

Our Zone Thanksgiving party was fun too! Ate so much foods and played games with the zone. It's cool to have this gathering and be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with them 😊

Lastly, our Ward Thanksgiving Party was fab! Me and my companion shared our talents by singing with our wonderful voices (hahaha lol just kidding) the hymn "Gai Syun Yan Din" or Count Your Blessings. We also shared some of the things we're grateful for... "Y." (the one who comes to our English class) and her family also came! We were so happy to see them and we introduced them to some of the members. She's really a potential! 😄

and will be serving here in Hong Kong!

Update for "Sister G." (recent convert): We continue teaching her her "after-baptism-lessons" and she's singing with the ward choir for the upcoming Christmas Devotional in our stake 😊

a pic of where we did Crossroads service!

Great week! 😊 I love you all! I am very blessed to have the Gospel in my life and to know these things. I am grateful for Jesus Christ's Atonement and for our Heavenly Father's unconditional love to all of us... Remember that you matter to Him and He knows you personally 😊 He sees us as His child and as the being we are capable and designed to become.

Have a great week everyone! (Hiking vids and pics below!)

WEEK 30

你好 (Léih hóu!)

It's Monday again and it's Thanksgiving week! 😁 Wow..., there's just too much to be grateful for... One of those is your email every week haha 😁 How's everyone doing?

Updates/Highlights from last week:

We did a lot of "windows of heaven" finding last week. Some days are great and some days are "not that great". Nevertheless, I could still see the tender mercies of the Lord everyday. It is definitely hard to find people to teach especially here in our area but I know that the Lord has a plan for us and He definitely guides us everyday on which place to go.

Pictures of FOOD:
(1) This Pumpkin Cheesecake from our Zone Conference lunch is perfect lol
(2) Ate a duck from a Chengout last Wednesday
(3) Had KBBQ for Chengout last night

We also had Zone Conference last week!  I am always excited every time we'll have Zone Conference because that means we will be edified again by our Mission President and our respective zone leaders... Anyways. these are some of the things I learned:
  • True happiness comes from the love we have for those people we teach.
  • Be the best we can... When things don't come as you wanted to, be willing to let go. It's all the Lord's plan. We always have another day to be better. Heavenly Father doesn't expect us to be perfect because that's where the Atonement takes place.
  • Begin with an end in mind.
  • The greater obedience is the greater endowment of blessings.
  • If we consistently overcome our fears, it will eventually go away.
  • The second you break a rule, the easier you'll do it again.

Video: My companion's reaction to Zone Conference change of date haha

Missionary work is great! I love being a missionary! I know that this church is true and I love serving the people of Hong Kong... It is sometimes difficult to change circumstances but I know that a positive attitude can help us 😊

Also, I would like to share some of the talks I read during my personal study last week. If you have time, please read these talks (click link):
  1. It is better to look up (Elder Cook, Oct 2011)
  2. The Essential Role of a Member Missionary Work (Elder Ballard, Apr 2003)
  3. Trust in God, Then Go and Do (Pres. Eyring, Oct 2010)
  4. See others as they may become (Pres. Monson, Oct 2012)
  5. Perfection Pending (Pres. Nelson, Oct 1995)

Have a great week everyone! See you all next Monday! Happy Thanksgiving! 💜
